Aoibhe McHugh

Aoibhe is a highly experienced litigation solicitor with over twenty years’ experience advising and representing clients in complex, high-value disputes. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin, she was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland in 2005 and has built a distinguished career across leading commercial law firms, specialist litigation practices, and as in-house counsel for a major national retailer.

Aoibhe now specialises in clinical negligence and catastrophic injury litigation, including fatal injuries claims. She has particular expertise in cases involving delayed or missed diagnosis of cancer, birth injuries, and claims arising from infertility treatment.

She has acted in numerous complex and multi-party proceedings, including cases involving catastrophic and life-altering injuries, road traffic and workplace accidents, defamation claims, and high-stakes commercial disputes. Earlier in her career, Aoibhe represented a significant number of claimants before the Hepatitis C Tribunal and acted in a substantial volume of cosmetic surgery injury claims.

In addition to her specialist litigation practice, Aoibhe has extensive experience in employment law, regularly advising and representing both plaintiffs and defendants before the Workplace Relations Commission and the Labour Court. She also holds additional qualifications from the Law Society of Ireland in Employment Law and Commercial Property.
